ACT's polypeptide multilayer nanofilms, capsules, and Artificial Cells were invented by ACT’s CSO, Dr. Don Haynie.  ACT is pursuing a “picket fence” of patent protection for general aspects of the technology platform, specific capabilities of the technology, methods of control of film and capsule properties, specific applications of the technology, specific material formulations, and general manufacturing methods.

ACT currently has 11 patent applications pending with the US as well as other national governments.
